Recommended to me for a specific purpose by a professional nurseryman. It adheres to the cutting base so you know when it's in dirt there is some there. It worked better than another powdered product I've used for years. The two images I supplied shows a special tomato sucker, the parent was a 7.18# tomato... and worth making more than one plant. In 10 days I had a new plant, fastest rooting I've seen for this type of propagation. I'm trying it with other plant cuttings, so far it is doing much better than anything else I've tried. It seems pricy but the 100 ml bottle will go a long ways. Strongly recommend despite the price.

It worked GREAT for me! I used this product to clone some cherry bushes. The parent bushes were very small so the cuttings I took were very thin (about as thick as a pencil lead)and 6 inches long. Even under very difficult circumstances in 16 weeks using this product I was able to root a large number of the bushes. I would recommend using sand/perlite/vermiculite or something similar to start the plants in. I used peat pots with fruit jars over the top to control humidity and a standard fluorescent 4' light laying on top of the jars. Keep them warm and moist....they will grow! I'm not a professional but just a guy that loves gardening and farming!

I work for a program that grows endangered Hawaiian plants for conservation. Part of our work involves collecting propagation material from wild plants for genetic storage, seed production, and research. Wild plants are usually much less vigorous than nursery grown plants, and we've had very low success with cuttings of certain species for example Flueggea neowawraea (Phyllanthaceae). This species is even difficult to propagate using air layers and with many endangered species, there is little or no literature on propagation. We have found that like many other tree species, vertically oriented water sprouts root well, but this type of material is often not available on wild trees. With Clonex there is an obvious increase in our success. I would estimate that with using Dip N Gro (usually 1:8 or 1:10 for woody cuttings dipped for 5-10 seconds) we had a success rate of less than 1%. With Clonex our success rate has increased to about 10%. We have also noticed improved success in wild-collected cuttings of other species. The concentration and formulation makes it easy to use, no dust and no need for dilution. It works well for both woody and herbaceous cuttings (just like it says on the bottle). We try not to dip cuttings into the bottle (to prevent contamination of the Clonex). It works well for cuttings or layers (e.g. air layers/marcotts).

Like all good tools, Clonex is useless without proper knowledge and skill. As much as I like Clonex I encourage propagators to experiment with other rooting hormones and to try to read-up on the species desired for propagation. Clonex is not a miracle solution, but it is definitely a great tool for any serious propagator.
